WestCMS offers you and your employees all the features you need for easy maintenance of your website, intranet or extranet:
- Modern Web interface. WestCMS operates in a modern, Web 2.0 based user interface. The clear and well structured GUI makes daily work easy.
- Component-based template mechanism. Layouts developed by your web designers are integrated by our developers as components into the system. Simply ‘drag and drop’ these components into the template editor to create new website templates.
- Explorer view of your sites. By adopting the Windows Explorer structure, editors can easily create and edit pages in a comprehensible tree view and set the navigation structure of Web sites.
- In-place editing. Page editing is especially intuitive with direct content editing from the preview page view of the page being worked on.
- Predefined content modules. Web sites are usually created not only from freely-entered HTML content, but also from structured content. WestCMS brings a large number of predefined modules. The maintenance and integration of news articles, events, pictures and media galleries, collections of material and forms thus becomes “child's play”.
- Central media database. Images, video and audio streams are centrally managed in the system and accessible in all content modules and editors to include them into the websites.
- Complex permissions system. The access rights to individual website elements can be granted and fine-tuned. In this way, system operation is not only safer, but also easier by assigning functions to the various roles. The user sees only functions, which relate to his system permissions and skill level.
- Platform support. A unique feature of WestCMS is the support for complex web platforms. The system allows the maintenance of multiple independent but logically linked sites. This makes the development of a comprehensive internet platform in a central content management system possible.
- Taxonomies. All content for a Web site or the entire platform can be linked to centralized to decentralized managed categories. These categories can be evaluated and displayed.
- Content control and inheritance. Content can not only be managed for one site of a platform, but also easily managed for various sites with configurable control mechanisms. News articles and other content of a division or department website can therefore automatically be displayed on other sites.
